Mari Kodama is a Japanese-American photographer and cinematographer based in Ithaca, New York. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Film, Photography & Visual Arts at Ithaca College.
She began taking photographs at a young age, but it wasn't until being given her first film camera that her interest bloomed. She loves the intentionality that comes with shooting analog, whether it be still or motion picture film.
Growing up, Mari was classically trained in ballet, the love of which led her to pursue a minor in dance. She is passionate about films centering dance as well as women-told stories.
